As economic optimism fluctuates and the economy delivers plausible employment numbers, small to medium employers in particular are demanding immediate access to skilled overseas workers given current migration targets are inadequate to maintain a working age population.

As the pressure for labour and skills deepen, shortages are anticipated to rise to unprecedented levels to 2015. Without a significant increase in the skilled migration intake, the potential evolution of some businesses becomes tenuous at best.
